Universities Australia is the peak body representing Australia's 39 universities. It is owned by its members.
The organisation as a whole is an active player in the determination and formulation of public policy, advocating on behalf of Australia's universities. The secretariat also coordinates key sectoral meetings, sectoral representation on external bodies, and facilitates international representative linkages.
The secretariat also acts as a hub for the provision of strategic knowledge, statistical evidence, and key policy advice to support Australian universities in their missions across teaching, research, and community engagement. Universities Australia and its subsidiary Higher Ed Services provides member universities with access to collective procurement and licensing agreements, along with a range of expert resources.
The document available for download below presents the Corporate Plan for Universities Australia, covering the period from 2011 to 2013. It provides general guidance for the organisation.
