Universities Australia is proud to support Think Before, an initiative to ensure that international students know how to make themselves safer when travelling late at night.
Leaving home to study overseas often brings great rewards and new life challenges. Some international students in Australia are not aware of the risks in their new environment and a minority of students have been placing themselves in high risk situations.
Think Before delivers seven key safety messages. International students can view the video and messages, then share it with family and fellow students. To help distribute the information the video and safety messages are offered online, through mobile (m.thinkbefore.com), social networking channels including Facebook and Twitter, and video sharing websites such as YouTube. Being aware of safety issues will help deliver a positive student experience when studying in Australia.
Think Before is part of broader efforts by universities, governments, law enforcement authorities and the wider community to ensure that all students studying in Australia remain safe.
