Universities Australia welcomes the opportunity to comment on the Migration Legislation Amendment (Student Visas) Bill 2012 which was referred to the Senate Standing Committees on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.
This Bill addresses two aspects of the Knight Review Recommendations; that of automatic visa cancellations and education providers informing government of changes to student contact details within 14 days of becoming aware of a change.
