Universities Asutralia, as the peak body representing Australia's universities, wishes to thank the Attorney-General's Department for the opportunity to respond to this Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS). Monitoring and secure use of chemicals in Australian universities is a high priority for all universities, and in light of new terror threats, the timing and scope of this review is welcome.
Universities aim to provide students with training that instils the highest standards of chemical security, thereby transferring best practice standards into the public and private sector.
