Universities Australia welcomes the opportunity to comment on the above review. We understand the need to find clarity in relation to Graduate and Vocational Graduate Certificates and Diplomas within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Doing so will support the integrity of the AQF and ensure that qualifications are appropriate and continue to meet the needs of students, employers and higher education providers.
After consultation with our members, it is clear that there are a variety of views on the proposed options outlined in the Discussion Paper. We understand that a number of univerisities will be providing individual submissions and we commend them to you. In assessing these submissions, however, we recommend that consideration be given to some core principles.
