Graduate Careers Council of Australia Course Experience Questionnaire Data 1998
General Notes
- The following files were generated from the 1998 GCCA CEQ survey after
consultation with institutional users.
- The data are provided in comma delimited format (CSV files). These will
be read by most recent spreadsheet programs.
- Level of qualification is sorted in the order: doctorate, research masters,
coursework masters, graduate/postgraduate diploma, graduate certificate,
graduate bachelor, honours bachelor, pass bachelor, three year undergraduate
diploma, associate diploma, and certificate.
Abbreviations
GTS = Good Teaching Scale
CGS = Clear Goals and Standards Scale
AWS = Appropriate Workload Scale
AAS = Appropriate Assessment Scale
GSS = Generic Skills Scale
OSI = Overall Satisfaction Item
- Means and standard deviations are calculated to one decimal place.
- The data in these files include figures from both major fields of
study (the 1997 CEQ, for the first time, allowed respondents to give
CEQ responses for two 'majors').
Files
1. ceq98.csv (was ceqmaj97.csv in 1997) shows CEQ figures by
institution,
level of qualification and DETYA field of study. The mean and standard
deviation are shown for each sub-scale, and the national scale mean and
maximum N size is also shown.
2. option98.csv (no equivalent in 1997) shows CEQ figures by
institution,
level of qualification and institution-generated faculty/degree/course code
variable. The mean and standard deviation are shown for each sub-scale,
and the national scale mean and maximum N size is also shown.
3. area98.csv (was area971.csv in 1997) shows CEQ figures by
institution,
level of qualification and 40 aggregated fields of study. The mean and
standard deviation are shown for each sub-scale, and the
national scale mean and maximum N size is also shown.
4. pcceq98.csv: There are 6 sub-scale files showing the percentage
disagree-agree on the 5 point Likert scale by DETYA field of study.
5. pcopt98<scale>.csv: There are 6 sub-scale files showing the percentage
disagree-agree on the 5 point Likert scale by the institution-generated
faculty/degree/course code variable.
6. pcarea98<scale>.csv: There are 6 sub-scale files showing the percentage
disagree-agree on the 5 point Likert scale by 40 aggregated fields of study.
7. appd98.csv shows CEQ figures for pass and honours degree
graduates
by institution and DETYA field of study. The institutional and national
means are shown for each sub-scale, and the maximum N size is also shown.
These are the figures which will appear in the institutional appendix of
the upcoming 1998 CEQ report.
Additional files with previous years' CEQ data are also available
on this site. They are in slightly different format (in terms of layout of data and
variables) and users should consult the relevant information files for those years.
