The following files were generated from
the 2001 GCCA CEQ survey.

The data are provided in comma delimited
format (CSV files). These will be read by most recent spreadsheet
programs.

These figures were posted in May 2002
following data adjustments made in April.

Level of qualification is sorted in the
order: doctorate, research masters, coursework masters,
graduate/postgraduate diploma, graduate certificate, graduate
bachelor, honours bachelor, pass bachelor, three year
undergraduate diploma, associate diploma, and certificate.
Abbreviations
GTS = Good Teaching Scale
CGS = Clear Goals and Standards Scale
AWS = Appropriate Workload Scale
AAS = Appropriate Assessment Scale
GSS = Generic Skills Scale
OSI = Overall Satisfaction Item
SD = Strongly disagree (response 1)
D = Disagree (response 2)
U = Undecided (response 3)
A = Agree (response 4)
SA = Strongly agree (response 5)
Means and standard deviations are calculated
to one decimal place. The data in these files include figures from
both major fields of study.

data, the reader is directed to the various Course Experience
Questionnaire reports published by the GCCA, and to the survey
managers' resource centre on the Gradlink web site (click on the GCCA
logo and follow the links).

Description of files available on this site.
1. ceq01.csv shows CEQ
figures by institution, level of qualification and DETYA field of
study. Institutional and national means, standard deviations and
response numbers are shown for each scale.
2. option01.csv shows
CEQ figures by institution, level of qualification and
institution-generated faculty/degree/course code variable (where an
institution included it). The mean and standard deviation are shown
for each scale, and response numbers are also shown. There are no
relevant national figures as the option codes are unique to each
institution.
3. area01.csv shows
CEQ figures by institution, level of qualification and 40
aggregated fields of study. Institutional and national means, standard
deviations and response numbers are shown for each scale.
4. pcmaj01<scale>.csv: There are 6 scale
files showing the percentage disagree-agree on the 5 point Likert
scale by DETYA field of study. Column headings used are SD% (%
strongly disagree), D% (% disagree), U% (% undecided), A% (% agree),
and SA% (% strongly agree).
5. pcopt01<scale>.csv: There are 6 scale
files showing the percentage disagree-agree on the 5 point Likert
scale by the institution-generated faculty/degree/course code
variable. Column headings used are SD% (% strongly disagree), D% (%
disagree), U% (% undecided), A% (% agree), and SA% (% strongly agree).
6. pcarea01<scale>.csv: There are 6
scale files showing the percentage disagree-agree on the 5 point Likert scale by
40 aggregated fields of study. Column headings used are SD% (%
strongly disagree), D% (% disagree), U% (% undecided), A% (% agree),
and SA% (% strongly agree).
7. CEQapp01.csv
shows CEQ figures for pass and honours degree graduates by institution
and DETYA field of study. The institutional and national means are
shown for each scale, and the N size is also shown. These are the
figures which used to appear in the institutional appendices of the
annual CEQ report.
Additional files with previous years' CEQ data
are also available on this site. They are in slightly different format
(in terms of layout of data and variables) and users should consult
the relevant information files for those years.
