The University of Adelaide is a global leader in research, innovation and teaching. We discover new knowledge to better the world, and prepare the leaders of tomorrow.

The University of Adelaide is amongst the elite universities in the world, ranking in the top 150. We are a member of Australia’s Group of Eight. We are the highest globally ranked university in South Australia.

The best and brightest
We recognise exceptional people are our greatest asset. Adelaide has 110 Rhodes Scholars and five Nobel Laureates among its distinguished alumni.

Our 27,000 students from over 90 countries enjoy high-quality education across 200 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Students learn under global leaders, developing research skills, an innovation mindset, an international perspective and career readiness.

Translatable research
Our researchers are committed to solving the world’s grandest challenges. 82% of our research areas are rated as ‘above or well above world standard’ in the latest Excellence in Research Australia assessment.

Our specialist institutes and centres work collaboratively across disciplines. They partner with industry and government to create and facilitate the take up of new technology and practices.

Our research priorities align with key concerns for the community, contributing to improvements in health and medicine, defence capabilities, cyber security, smart cities and innovation in the food sector.

Global perspective
The University of Adelaide is connected across the globe. We have strong research and innovation partnerships with universities, institutes and companies throughout Asia, Europe and North America. We work with businesses and governments to improve the lives of communities in need.

Over half a million people from most countries of the world participate in our Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Under the name AdelaideX, we share our quality education with learners for free.

Ideas activation
The University of Adelaide has an entrepreneurial spirit and we help create and grow new businesses. Our business incubator, ThincLab, provides space and access to researchers and entrepreneurs determined to develop an idea into a new venture. ThincLab has branches in Singapore and France providing businesses with an opportunity to expand into new markets.
