The strategic communications team, led by the Director, Strategic Communications, works closely with the policy team on policy development and advice, and devises UA’s media advocacy and campaigns. It maintains close working relationships with Members of Parliament, Ministerial and Shadow Ministerial offices, and Government departments including on formal lobbying efforts.
This team is responsible for writing and issuing media releases, speeches and opinion pieces, producing publications including Member Update and HIGHER ED.ITION, developing communication plans, media liaison, background briefings, managing the branding of the organisation and consistency of documentation produced by UA. It also produces printed materials, manages social media and oversees website content.
The Digital Marketing and Communications Officer develops and delivers Universities Australia’s social and marketing strategies as well as contributing to managing media requests and writing collateral.
The position liaises with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to UA’s marketing, communications, media relations, brand management, advertising, publications, events, social media, websites as well as communication standards and protocols.
