Like many Australian regional universities, USQ has campuses spread over a large geographic area, with its home base situated in Toowoomba – 130 kilometres west of Brisbane. It also has campuses in Springfield and Ipswich and a hub at Stanthorpe, as well as a large online presence.

In the most recent Good Universities Guide (2019), USQ was recognised for graduates having the highest starting salary in the country. In Queensland, USQ graduates rank number one for full-time employment with 82.5 per cent finding work within four months of finishing their course – well above the national average of 69.5 per cent.
